วัดป่าเกด สร้างขึ้นในสมัยรัชกาลที่ 3 ความงดงามและความโด่ดเด่น ที่สุดของพระอุโบสถหลังเก่า คือ หน้าบันไม่แกะสลักรูปนารายณ์ทรงครุฑและลายเครือเถา ส่วนด้นหน้าและด้านหลังมีเสาเหลี่ยมปลายสอบขนาดใหญ่ ภายในมีภาพจิตกรรมฝาผนังฝีมือช่างหลวง สมัยรัชกาลที่ 3

ต่อมาในสมัย พ.ศ. 2510 กรมศิลปากรได้ขึ้นทะเบียนวัดแห่งนี้เป็นโบราณสถานของชาติ และกำลังอยู่ในระหว่างการบูรณะให้กลับมางดงาม เป็นศาสนสถานที่ชาวชุมชนภาคภูมิใจ

Wat Pa Ket

Wat Pa Ket was built during the reign of King Rama III. The most beautiful and outstanding feature of the old assembly hall is the wood carving on its gable. The carving depicts Hindu god narayana mounting a Garuda who is seizing Naga, surounded by liana patterns. There are tapering square pillars both in front of and behind the building . Murals inside the hall were painted by royal artisans of the King Rama III’s court.

The Fine Arts Department declared the temple a historic site in 1967 and its dilapidated assembly hall is now under renovation.
